Almost half of Brazilians with smartphones have already used QR code for payments

Amid pandemic, the proportion of Brazilians that already made payments using QR code rose from 35% to 48%

  • According to Mobile Time/ Opinion Box’s survey, the habit of paying with QR code is more common among men than women;

In six pandemic-months, the proportion of Brazilians with smartphones that said that they have already made payments using QR code rose from 35% to 48%, according to the new Panorama Mobile Time / Opinion Box survey on mobile commerce and mobile payment in Brazil.

The report interviewed 2,007 Brazilians that have smartphones between August 10 and 21st. The survey has a 95% confidence level and a 2.2% margin of error.

According to the report, the habit of paying with QR code is more common among men (52%) than women (44%). Besides, the research points that QR Code has been more experienced among users of upper classes (53%) than among those of low income classes (46%). More than half that used it paid through iOS (62%) despite of Android (46%).
