- Amazon opens new office in India, and the campus can be used by more than 15 thousand employees;
- The new campus took three years to finish building.
Not yet Latin America, but Amazon has chosen another emerging market to open its biggest office outside the US: India. The city of Hyderabad is known as a tech-hub in the region and already has the offices of other tech giants such as Microsoft and Google.
According to Business Insider, the new office took three years to completely build and the campus can be used by more than 15 thousand employees. It maintains the general concept of Amazon’s offices and offers benefits such as nursing room, prayer’s rooms, and quiet rooms.
While the brand has already won over developed markets, the new office is more evidence of how important emerging markets, such as India and Latin America, are to Amazon’s growth strategy. In an exclusive interview for LABS, Daniel Mazini, the Head of Retail in Amazon Brazil, revealed that the company has “continuous plans for Brazil.” While this is great news came for emerging markets, we can’t wait to hear more.
