Amazon Day sales exceeded Black Friday results for the company in Brazil

Amazon Day exceeded Black Friday sells in Brazil
  • Amazon sells more in the first 24 hours of Amazon Day in Brazil than on Black Friday
  • Books were the best-selling product with more than 80 thousand sold

Amazon Day – a global sale for the company – began yesterday, and the date is one of the most anticipated by online consumers in other countries. Amazon’s aim in Brazil was to open the market as an initial step to increasing their share in the retail market in the country. And they accomplished it.

In the first 24 hours of the sale, the company had more sales in Brazil than they did during the last Black Friday. With discounts of up to 60% and free shipping, the favorite product for Brazilians were books, according to the Brazilian media outlet Folha de S. Paulo. Amazon has already sold more than 80 thousand books in Brazil during the sale that is still happening today (Jul 17).

In Black Friday 2018, Amazon reached a revenue of BRL 2.6 billion in their e-commerce in Brazil, which represented an increase of 23% in relation to 2017, and now Amazon Day can take the company to the next level in the Brazilian market.
