Amazon wants to expand Amazon Go to supermarkets by 2020

According to Bloomberg, the technology could also be sold to US grocery industry chains

Sources close to Amazon told Bloomberg that the company plans to expand technology from Amazon Go stores to supermarkets by 2020. Also on the table is the possibility of selling its cashierless technology to grocery industry chains.

Amazon is testing a Go-equipped supermarket in a 1,000-square-foot space in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, city that is also the company’s headquarter.

According to Bloomberg, Go technology would be the way for Amazon to compete directly with the $ 900 billion food industry.
