Another change in SoftBank's leadership in Latin America: new head of communications

Eduardo Vieira is the third change in SoftBank's leadership in the region, which already appointed Nicola Calicchio and Alex Szapiro this year

SoftBank announced on Monday Brazilian Eduardo Vieira as the company’s new Head of Communications for Latin America, starting September 1, 2021.

This is the third change in SoftBank‘s leadership in the region. In July, Nicola Calicchio, former co-chair of McKinsey’s Global Client Council, was appointed Chief Strategy Officer of SoftBank Group International (“SBGI”); and in March, Alex Szapiro, former general manager of Amazon Brazil, was appointed operating partner and Head of Brazil for SoftBank‘s Latin America fund.

Vieira is based in São Paulo and will report to Marcelo Claure, COO of SoftBank Group and CEO of SBGI, and Mark Kornblau, Global Head of Communications at SoftBank Group.

Vieira, who has a 23-year career as a reporter, digital entrepreneur, and executive, will be responsible for all external and internal communications functions for the company in the region, leading marketing, public relations, content, and events. He will also work with the more than 50 companies in the SoftBank Latin America Fund portfolio.
