Singapore based retailer Shopee, which claims to be the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, debuted its first Black Friday shopping campaign in Brazil and announced results this Friday.

According to the company, consumers enjoyed three weeks of uninterrupted entertainment and business, with over BRL 1 million in exclusive vouchers, free shipping throughout the country and in-app game prizes. The platform also recorded more than 7 million sessions on in-app games in the week before Shopee’s Black Friday.

We offer more fun, entertainment and unbeatable offers with our games and in-app promotions, while our mobile-first approach has made it more convenient for people to buy whenever and wherever they want,” said Felipe Piringer, Marketing Manager at Shopee Brasil.
On November 30, Shopee had strong sales demand as Brazilians took advantage of exclusive offers on the Shopee app to purchase essential and entertainment products. Over 95% of Shopee purchases were made on mobile devices, with electronics, clothing and mobile accessories being the most popular product categories.
Purchasing activity recorded came mainly from the states of Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
