BlackRocks Startups (BRS), a startup accelerator dedicated to promoting Black entrepreneurs and executives, announces a new project in partnership with Brazilian BTG Pactual: Grow Startup – Grow your business, a startup acceleration program that focuses on scalable and economical business growth.
The program will select eight startups that are in the pre-operation or operation phase. Registration on the BRS website runs until October 30. The selected startups will be announced on November 9.
In the accelerator’s sights are innovative businesses, led by at least one Black person, within the segment of fintech, machine learning, blockchain, analytics, big data, legal tech, health tech, real estate, Artificial Intelligence among others, and that operate B2B and B2B2C. “We select segments that are on the rise and consequently generate more opportunities for startups to become suppliers to large companies and thus deliver value to society,” explains Maitê Lourenço, CEO of BlackRocks Startups.
Grow Startup is a free of charge program that will put participants in contact with the startup ecosystem in Brazil. The program prepares the entrepreneur and his team to scale the business, know how to deal with the challenges of the market, in addition to adding knowledge through mentoring, workshops, contact with prospects, and networking.
Also, companies selected for Grow Startups will have access to boostLAB scale program, BTG Pactual’s acceleration program dedicated to connecting and leveraging startups at an advanced level, and $5,000 in credits for two years on tools and resources from Amazon and the program for connecting startups to large companies.
“We are very happy and confident to have BlackRocks as a partner for the development of the Black entrepreneurial startup ecosystem. Our main objective is to join efforts and contribute to enhance business created by Black entrepreneurs and promote the rise of these entrepreneurs in the universe of technology and innovation through acceleration ”, says Roberto Sallouti, CEO of BTG Pactual.
All meetings will be online and to participate at least one of the founders must be Black. Grow Startups will last for 4 months, with an average dedication of 15 hours per week, when meetings will be held both together with the other startups participating in the program, and individually – always remotely. It is also necessary that the founders are always present at these meetings.
