- In October 2019, Amazon struck a one-year licensing agreement with Disney to stream content from Disney’s catalog, such as Marvel and Pixar productions, on Prime Video. Given the date of Disney+ arrival n Latin America, the agreement would be about to expire at the time that the platform arrives in the region.
First announced by The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek during the company’s fiscal third-quarter results earlier this month, Disney confirmed this Thursday, in a memo sent to the press, that is launching its most anticipated streaming service Disney+ in Latin America in November.
“We know that our Latin American audience is looking forward to the arrival of Disney+, the only streaming service that will offer exclusive access to all premieres of available content from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic,” said Diego Lerner, president of The Walt Disney Company Latin America.
“In addition, all of Disney’s animated classics will be together for the first time in a single, exclusive destination. The entertainment proposal will be complemented by a robust offer of original Disney + series and films, a self-produced label, with a variety of titles that can be viewed only on our platform, as well as original content produced locally in various countries in the region for the most diverse audiences,” the exec added.
Our audience will also be able to access on Disney + all TV programs produced locally or globally (series, TV films, documentaries, shows, events and special programs), becoming the only digital destination that will have everything.
Diego Lerner, president of The Walt Disney Company Latin America

Disney + will also be the only platform to offer unlimited and permanent access to the full catalog of all Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars films for its subscribers,” said Lerner.
While still not officially announced by the company, Disney+ subscription price may arrive in Brazil costing BRL 29 ($5,41) per month, according to Guia Disney Plus Brasil.
