FedEx and Microsoft are partnering up to offer a new platform on which customers can access warnings about shipments, such as delays. The move will surely provide the logistics and software giants with a feature to compete with Amazon.
According to Bloomberg, the service will use Microsoft’s cloud software to offer big and small companies real-time data to determine ways to improve how they move goods.

“A lot of insight, a lot of intelligence, hides in this data,” Raj Subramaniam, FedEx’s chief operating officer, told Bloomberg. “Our work together will dramatically improve our visibility and agility across the global supply chain.”
