Getnet triples e-commerce revenue during Black Friday

On this Black Friday, Brazil’s Getnet, Santander Group‘s acquirer arm, recorded historic growth in e-commerce. Counting last Thursday and Friday the company registered more than 3 million online transactions, which represents an increase of more than 200% compared to 2019 and sales of more than BRL 1 billion, capturing more than 30% of the e-commerce market share, it said in a press statement.

The increase is eight times higher than estimated for the market (25%) by Ebit/Nielsen.

“We increasingly have to think about the concept of Fintech as a Service, that is, offering complete solutions that add value to our customers and differentiate us in the market. This result shows that we are on the right path. Our construction over the past years of a digital platform reinforces this path,” said Pedro Coutinho, CEO of Getnet, in a press statement.
