Venture capital investments in Latin America reached $5.1 billion in 2021’s third quarter alone, according to LAVCA (The Association for Private Capital Investment in Latin America). It brings the region to surpass the total of $11.5 billion investments in venture capital this year, according to LAVCA preliminary data.

As per LAVCA’s data, $4.8 billion was invested in the second quarter of 2021, which means a 6.5% growth from Q2 to Q3.

Although still about ten times less than what is invested in private companies in the United States, reports from LAVCA and CB Insights show that companies in Latin America raised at least $6 billion in venture capital investments in the first half of 2021.
