As part of the acquisition of Avon, the Brazilian company Natura will begin to use part of the US company structure in Colombia and Mexico for its namesake brand.

In an interview with the Valor Econômico newspaper, Natura&Co’s CEO, Roberto Marques, said that by 2020, Natura should start producing some items at the Avon plant in Mexico and use the distribution structure of the American brand in Colombia.

“Avon has a factory and distribution center in Latin America where Natura does not have. Let’s optimize existing assets. We will reduce Natura’s production cost instead of exporting Cajamar products, ”Marques told Valor reporters Alexandre Melo and Cynthia Malta. Today, Natura has four factories in Brazil.

Also according to the executive, in Colombia, Natura’s distribution structure has almost 100% of the capacity occupied and would need to be expanded, which, with the acquisition of Avon, will no longer need to be done.

Marques stressed that the main focus of the Brazilian group at the moment is the integration of Natura and Avon operations. Future acquisitions can wait.

With the acquisition of the North American company, the Natura & Co group, which also includes the brands The Body Shop and Aesop, becomes the four largest in the world in the area of beauty and wellness.
