- Bogotá, in Colombia, will receive a new office from streaming giant Netflix still in 2021;
- Between this year and the next, Netflix will shoot over 30 new local productions in the country.
“Ten years ago Colombia opened its doors to Netflix. A few years later we embarked on our first local production and quickly realized the great talent in the country and the opportunity to create Colombian content made by Colombians,” said a memo signed by Francisco Ramos, Netflix‘s VP of content for Latin America.
Between this year and the next, Netflix informed that it will shoot over 30 new series, films, documentaries and specials in the country, including already announced titles such as Ritmo Salvaje, Locombianos and the second season of Chichipatos.
With an eye on localization strategies, earlier in January Netflix also announced a US$ 300 million investment in more than 50 original productions in Mexico. Mexico was also chosen by the streaming giant to host its headquarters for Latin America.
