Picus Capital, a global venture capital firm that invests primarily in pre-Seed, Seed and Series A rounds, has just launched a global venture capital partner network called Picus Capital Venture Partners. The effort will select entrepreneurs who stand out in their sectors with the goal of creating a network for closer engagement with local innovation ecosystems in Latin American, European, and Asian markets. In addition, Picus Partners will provide mentoring and support to the founders.
The first entrepreneur selected for the partner network is Mexican Gerry Giacomán Colyer, cofounder and CEO of the fintech B2B Clara. As a member of Picus Partners, Colyer will work with Latin American entrepreneurs as a kind of consultant for financial and technological matters.

Clara has already raised over $100 million in funding from global investors such as Coatue, DST Global, Monashees, Kaszek, General Catalyst, and angel investors, and reached its unicorn valuation less than a year after launching operations. Founded by Giacomán-Colyer and Diego García in 2020, the startup began its operations in Mexico in March 2021 with an eye on the potential of the B2B financial solutions market. Clara offers an end-to-end solution for spending management for companies.
With Colyer’s nomination, Picus Capital is doubling down on its strategy for Latin America, shortly after announcing the new director for the region, Santiago Dañino Beck. “Picus Capital Venture Partners is a great platform to help further empower the regional ecosystem and support founders in their entrepreneurial journey,” said Colyer.
“As a venture partner, Gerry will be a mentor and role model for founders in the region. He is humble and very accessible, but has a driven entrepreneurial mindset,” said Julian Roeoes, partner and head at Picus Capital for the Americas.
