The financial volume handled by PIX, Brazil‘s instant payment system, surpassed BRL 24 billion in two weeks since its launch, on November 16, according to data updated by the Brazilian Central Bank on Monday and reported by InfoMoney. So far, PIX registered more than 28 million transactions.

In the second week of PIX’s operations, the daily figure has doubled as more people start to join the solution. When considering the financial volume in both periods, the amount increased by 59%. It was BRL 14.8 billion in the second week against BRL 9.3 billion in the first, as reported by InfoMoney, indicating that Brazilians are getting used to the new payment system.

The largest financial volume, at least so far, occurred on Black Friday, the 27th. On the sales event, Pix handled around BRL 3.314 billion in more than three million transactions made with the modality.
The number of so-called ‘PIX keys’ has also grown in the second week. The total already exceeds 93.240 million keys.
