Users of the Caixa Tem app, from Brazilian state-owned bank Caixa Econômica Federal, spent BRL 24.5 million on purchases in three days using a new feature that allows QR Code payments on POS devices. The bank launched the feature, which comes with the latest version of the application for iOS and Android, last Friday. The information is from Mobile Time.
In virtual debt operations, according to the website, the total spent by users was BRL 1.9 billion. On the Caixa Tem app, beneficiaries of government emergency assistance can make purchases at commercial establishments with acquirers Cielo and Getnet POS devices.
