Tencent has hired Fernando Mazza to lead its video game operation in Brazil, the Chinese giant said, as it expands its bet on international markets as it faces fierce competition and severe regulatory repression.
“We are excited to have him join at such a great time for our Level Infinite imprint, which is Tencent Games‘ global brand,” the company said in a statement to Reuters.
Mazza arrives at Tencent after three and a half years as the market development leader in the Americas of Garena, the developer of the Free Fire game.
“Our goal is to promote a unique community and environment in which players can have fun, make friends and compete,” he said.
