The Chinese electronic giant has confirmed its plans for a physical expansion in Brazil. Currently, Xiaomi’s only physical store in the country is located at Shopping Ibirapuera, in São Paulo. The plan is to open more stores, in different cities — at least one more is expected in 2019.
According to the Brazilian newspaper O Estado de S.Paulo, even before opening the new store, Xiaomi will increase its portfolio of products available for consumers in the country. In August, the manufacturer will bring three new smartphones to the country: the Mi 9T, the Mi A3, and also the Redmi 7A. Also in August, the arrival of the Mi Band 4 smart bracelet is confirmed. Moreover, the brand is planning to launch a line of smart lamps in September.
The brand is also considering to open a factory in the country. “We will study the project in the coming months,” said Luciano Barbosa, Xiaomi Product Director in Brazil, to O Estado de S.Paulo.
