Zoom announced this week on its virtual conference Zoomtopia that it is launching an event platform and a marketplace called OnZoom. The product, which was previously only available as a private beta version, now it’s available to everyone.
According to the company, an extension of Zoom’s unified communications platform, OnZoom is a comprehensive solution for paid Zoom users to create, host, and monetize events like fitness classes, concerts, stand-up or improv shows, and music lessons on the Zoom Meetings platform.
The product gathers event discovery and monetization features for businesses and entrepreneurs. Zoom users can log in to their OnZoom account and pay for events via PayPal and major credit cards besides donating to nonprofit organizations through events with active fundraisers through Pledgeling.
Zoom made partnerships with event and experiences providers via the OnZoom platform, such as WW (formerly Weight Watchers), that is offering its members virtual workshops using Zoom as COVID-19 swept the globe; Life Rolls On, the organization about adaptive surf and skate events for people living with disabilities; and Beautiful Destinations, a source of daily travel and lifestyle inspiration.
