Zoom is moving forward on its portfolio of remote work tools with a new launch. Announced by the comApany this week, Zoom for Home, a set of hardware and software equipment that pledges to enhance the remote work experience, is expected to arrive in August.

“After experiencing remote work ourselves for the past several months, it was clear that we needed to innovate a new category dedicated to remote workers,” said Eric S. Yuan, Zoom CEO, on a company press release.

In partnership with California-based IT firm DTEN, Zoom for Home is, according to the company, an immersive and productive workspace that includes three built-in wide-angle cameras for high-resolution video; an 8-microphone array for crystal-clear audio; and, an ultra-responsive touch display for interactive screen sharing, whiteboarding, annotating, and ideation. The equipment connects for anyone with a Zoom Meeting license.

“With employers and employees working through what the future of work will look like, it is important that people feel set up for success,” stated Rich Costello, Senior Research Analyst at the global market intelligence firm IDC. “Three months ago, it was making sure employees had the right ergonomic setup. “We’ve now moved to the phase of making sure employees have the right devices to enable productivity.”

Zoom for Home is already available for pre-order on DTEN’s website for $599, only in the US.
