Amazon will provide $5 million in subsidies to small businesses in Seattle affected by coronavirus. The information comes from TechCrunch.

The Neighborhood Small Relief Fund will aid businesses with less than 50 employees or less than $7 million in annual revenue. Cash grants are only for local business in need during the coronavirus outbreak.

The company is promoting several measures to help employees to contain the damage caused by the outbreak. It has already made a statement saying it would continue to pay its hourly employees working from home. Other companies are treading the same path, as China’s Alibaba Group, that will provide 1 billion yuan (about $144 million) to aid an online shopping festival to be held this March.
