From CB Insights report: How To Increase Sales In E-commerce in 3 Topics

Three trends that may help e-commerce business

New York City-based research firm CB Insights recently pointed out 14 trends in e-commerce in 2020. As wireless 5G allows features to improve e-commerce, Inc listed 3 of these trends that may help e-commerce business boost their sales beyond the main goal of offering a frictionless experience for users.

1 – Counterfeit Detection A.I.

To sale counterfeit goods is a risk that e-commerce is currently susceptible. This month, the U.S. House of Representatives proposed a bill called the Shop Safe Act that aims to hold e-commerce marketplaces liable for selling counterfeit items on their websites. To protect themselves from irresponsible sellers, e-commerce companies are betting on technologies capable of identifying such products.

Last month, Amazon announced Project Zero, which includes AI detection for falsification.

2 – Visual Search

It’s a technology that allows you to point your smartphone at a product and received images and infos about other similar products.

Amazon already has something like that, an app’s feature called as Show and Tell, as well as Pinterest, with its Pinterest Lens. Last year, the company added shoppable pins to Lens, meaning when you hover over something you like on the social media, now you can easily buy it with just a few taps of your fingers.

3 – Voice Shopping

Ordering anything by voice is easier and faster. According to Inc, Amazon has a patent for an augmented reality system that recognizes gestures and voice. The next step is to improve gestures recognizing to order products.
