Brazilian retailer Lojas Americanas will open seven distribution centers in the next two years

By 2022, the company also responsible for Americanas.com and Submarino e-commerces will have 22 centers

According to Valor Econômico newspaper, Lojas Americanas will have seven new distribution centers by 2022. The information was given by the company’s president, Miguel Gutierrez, in a meeting with investors in Rio de Janeiro.

The centers will serve not only the physical Americanas stores, but the entire structure of B2W, which includes Americanas.com and Submarino, and the group’s fintech Ame Digital, which offers digital wallet and online financial services.

Today the group has 15 distribution centers. Part of these new centers will open in the Northeast of Brazil, where the company does not yet have this storage structure.

Gutierrez also said Lojas Americanas expects an increase in total customers served from 38 million to 46 million between 2019 and 2022. The executive also announced an agreement in the area of cards between Ame and Banco do Brasil.
