Banco Itaú announced a BRL 400 billion commitment to promoting ESG initiatives by 2025, aiming to contribute to a sustainable economy, as part of its ESG (environmental, social and governance) practices.

According to a statement to the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission, the amount covers three main fronts: granting credit in sectors with a positive impact, such as energy services, education, health and infrastructure; structuring ESG-linked transactions for the bank’s customers, such as ESG Bonds, ESG Loans and green bonds; and retail-oriented ESG products, such as electric car financing, solar panels, microcredit and others.
