JetSmart, a Chilean low cost airline, has been authorized to operate in Brazil, just a few days after filling a request, according the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac).

According to the agency, the Chilean company JetSmart will operate flights from Argentina and Chile to Brazil. The company is owned by the North-American fund Indigo Partners.

JetSmart is the fifth low cost company to arrived in the country. Previously, the European Norwegian, the Chilean Sky Airlines and the Argentine Flybondi had also made de request do operate in Brazil. Besides that, the European airline Globalia waits for the authorization for flying domestic fligths in Brazil.

Anac attributes the requests to the breach of the baggage allowance rule.

This Wednesday (28), the Brazilian Congress may hold a session that should analyze several presidential vetoes, among which the veto to a part of the text that recreated the baggage allowance, setting the limit of 23 kilos as free baggage allowance for aircraft with capacity to more than 31 places.
