80-year-old Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim recovers well from COVID-19, says his son

80-year-old Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim is recovering from COVID-19 after more than a week of mild symptoms, his son said on Monday.

Slim visited the National Institute of Nutrition for clinical analysis, monitoring and preventive treatment, his son, the entrepreneur Carlos Slim Domit said on Twitter.

“He is doing very well and has had a very favorable evolution after more than a week of mild symptoms,” said Slim Domit.

Telecommunications mogul Slim is the richest man in Mexico and is among the richest in the world.

His family controls América Móvil, the largest Mexican telecommunications provider, whose operations include mobile and fixed voice services, wireless and fixed data services, internet access, and pay television.

A spokesman for América Móvil declined to comment.
