The health authorities of Costa Rica announced on Tuesday that the vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory for all its public servants and authorized private companies to require the same thing from their employees.
It’s an unprecedented gesture so far among Latin American countries.
The country’s National Vaccination and Epidemiology Commission approved the measure. The government of Costa Rica has set the goal of vaccinating 83% of its 5.2 million inhabitants. Currently, 64% of Costa Ricans have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
