“Prime Gaming continues to include a free Twitch channel subscription, tons of free loot in your favorite games, 5+ free PC games every month, and more with your Amazon Prime membership”, said the company, while updating the new version of Twitch Prime, a service launched four years ago tied to the streaming platform Amazon has acquired in 2014.

With the rebrand, Prime Gaming sits more logically alongside some of the other digital content included with an Amazon Prime subscription, such as Prime Video for streaming movies and TV shows and Prime Reading for ebooks, digital magazines, points out The Verge, that recalls that the new Prime Gaming name is yet another signal of Amazon’s continued commitment to gaming: Amazon also has its own game development arm called Amazon Games.

It is not only Amazon that is committed to gaming. Also, according to The Verge, the big techs are putting efforts into it, as Microsoft said it will launch on September 15th Project xCloud, its game streaming on Android smartphones and tablets. For now, it will only be available in 22 countries, leaving Latin America aside.
