Argentine etermax launched 8 games and hired 170 new talents in 2020

Listed to be one of the next Latin American unicorns and best known for its board game and the crossword puzzle Trivia Crack, Argentine etermax has grown in 2020: it launched 8 games, hired 170 new talents and opened new offices.

With more than 800 million downloads and 150 million active users in 180 countries, etermax’s gaming division saw a 120% growth in daily active users in 2020, 25% above the original forecast.

Created in 2009 as a mobile games developer, etermax has evolved into a technology firm, started offering solutions, services and strategies in-game advertising and monetizing, with flame by etermax, and an artificial intelligence solutions company for any type of industry, with etermax Al Labs. In 2020 added to this cycle of transformations a new global corporate positioning and a new visual identity.

According to etermax, the company was the one that most developed mobile games across the American continent and in Spain in 2020 and it also hired a record number of new talents in its history.

Today, etermax has 450 professionals, including developers, designers, illustrators, animators, audiovisual producers, data scientists and marketing specialists that make up multidisciplinary, dynamic and creative teams, distributed in five offices: three in Argentina, one in Uruguay and one in Germany, in addition to teams in São Paulo and Mexico City.

Maximo Cavazzani, founder and CEO of etermax, said that the pandemic posed challenges for all organizations in 2020 and highlighted two points that has been the company’s ally: technology and new talents.

“In this complex context, we are proud to have overcome the challenges and achieved the plans outlined for 2020, opening new jobs, adding talents, opening new offices and areas and developing or improving technologies that make us stand out in the industry,” he said in a press statement.

This year, etermax opened a third office in Mendoza, Argentina, in addition to the other two in Buenos Aires, one in Montevideo, Uruguay and one in Berlin, Germany. Besides, etermax acquired Performash, a company specialized in advertising. It also elevated the Data Analytics area to board status and appointed a new Chief Data Officer, recognizing the value of data as assets and its importance in making business decisions, the firm said.
