Competition backed by Google and Brazil at Silicon Valley reveals selected startups

PEBmed, CRM Educacional, Prosas, CosmoBots, and TerraMagna, are some of the startups selected to take part in the competition held by Brazil at Silicon Valley

“Startup Battle”, held by Brazil at Silicon Valley and Google for Startups, has already the 15 companies selected to take part in the competition, that will be held during the second edition of the conference, on March 30 and 31, in Mountain View, California. Organized by Brazilian students from Stanford and Berkeley universities, the event has the mission of connecting Brazil to Silicon Valley with a purpose in mind: transform the country’s future through technology and innovation.

The selected companies are in the early stage (Seed and Series A) and are expected to present a pitch to the committee made up of members of Google for Startups and major venture capital companies. Competition winners will have access to one of Google for Startups programs in the second half of 2020 – same program that accelerated Brazilian unicorns Nubank, Loggi, and QuintoAndar.

In spite of the great moment of fintechs in Brazil and Latin America, other sectors managed to take a share among the 15 selected startups: healthcare, education, social entrepreneurship, retail tech, and agrotech; shedding a light on which are the industries willing to offer more tech-oriented solutions – besides the fintech players.

The selected companies are:

“Disrupted Industries” category: CosmoBots, Instanteaser , Mediação Online, Nagro, Real2U Augmented Reality, Rocket.Chat, TerraMagna

“Social Impact category”: brain4care, CRM Educacional, Incentiv.me, PEBMED , Portal Telemedicina, Prosas , Telavita, Ti.Saúde
