Brazilian foodtech Fazenda Futuro begins to export to Europe

The company's expansion to other markets is supported by the contribution of $8.5 million led by the Brazilian venture capital manager Monashees

A few months after starting exports in Latin America, foodtech Fazenda Futuro announces its arrival in Europe. According to the Brazilian newspaper Valor Econômico, the first delivery of the company’s vegetable-based hamburgers arrived in the Netherlands last week. England and Germany are the next markets.

According to the company, in two years, exports to the Old Continent should reach 40 million euros. According to Valor, Fazenda Futuro’s revenues, based on the production of 60 tons of hamburgers per month and the price of each unit of the product, should be around BRL 50 million. The exact value, according to the newspaper, was never revealed by Fazenda Futuro’s CEO, Marcos Leta.

Also according to Valor, the expansion to other markets is supported by the contribution received in July this year, of $8.5 million, led by the Brazilian venture capital manager Monashees.

With this money, Leta told the newspaper, it will be possible to expand the factory located in the city of Volta Redonda, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, increasing the plant’s capacity from 113 to 55 tons of food per month.

The expansion of production takes into account not only the arrival of Fazenda Futuro products to other international markets, but also the greater penetration of these products in the Brazilian domestic market.
