Small and medium-sized businesses connected to Nuvemshop‘s platform, an Argentine e-commerce solutions startup, ended 2020 with a total turnover of BRL 1.3 billion, an increase of 166% compared to that recorded in 2019, reported Broadcast’s column on O Estado de São Paulo.

Fueled by social distancing and the growing need of buying essential and non essential items online, the number of active retailers on Nuvemshop’s platform rose from 25,000 to 70,000 in Latin America last year.
Also, the number of orders placed through the platform tripled in 2020, to 6 million. According to O Estado de São Paulo, the fashion segment was the one that sold the most in 2020 on Nuvemshop, with 2.3 million orders, up 227% compared to 2019. Others that showed expressive expansion were accessories, with a high 151%, health, and beauty, with an increase of 112%, besides food and beverages, with a spike of 382%.
