Magazine Luiza seeks good ideas for digital services outside the company

Pitch Day had 284 entries, but only 16 entrepreneurs were selected to present their solutions to executives

Like other large companies from different industries, the Brazilian retailer Magazine Luiza is opening more room for external innovation. According to Exame magazine, the company is making a Pitch Day on Wednesday, an event in which entrepreneurs can present ideas for digital services aligned with products already sold by the retailer.

The ultimate goal is to find ideas that promote the digital inclusion of Magazine Luiza’s end consumer.

“Our client has his life impacted by technology, so we want to help him make better use of his technological devices,” Juliana Silva, Digital Services Manager at the company, told Exame.

The retailer cited the Lu Conecta service, which helps consumers who have bought a new smartphone but don’t know how to set it up as an example of these solutions they are looking for.

The company received 284 subscriptions, but only 16 ideas were selected for presentation to Magazine Luiza executives.

In 2018, in a similar initiative, the focus of Magazine Luiza’s Pitch Day was logistics.
