Spotify brings real-time lyrics to Latin America and expands Duo plan

Spotify announced the launch of its new lyrics feature in 17 Latin American markets as well as in some countries from other regions. It will be the first time the real-time lyrics will be offered in 22 of the 26 new markets, as Mexico, Vietnam and Thailand had some form of lyrics features in the past.

The feature was in test phase since last year. Now, real-time lyrics are being brought, by a new agreement with provider Musixmatch, to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Singapore, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Ecuador, Philippines, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Thailand, Taiwan, Uruguay, Vietnam.

The streaming platform also announced today that it is expanding Premium Duo, a feature that allows two people who live together to share one subscription plan while maintaining their own individual accounts, to 55 new markets. Latin America already had the service, now, Duo debuts in the US, UK, India, Italy and Spain.
