New PlayStation Studios‘ The Last of Us Part II surpassed 4 million copies sold in just three days following its release, according to VentureBeat. With this, the game beats Marvel’s Spider-Man‘s record of 3.3 million and makes The Last of Us Part II the fastest-selling first-party PlayStation release ever.

Sony’s PlayStation Studios has been in a string of record hits: In May 2018, God of War became Sony’s fastest-selling PS4 game, with 3.1 million copies in three days, says VentureBeat. In September of that year, was Spider-Man turn, and now The Last of Us Part II.
Last month, Sony announced a new PlayStation Studios brand that will be used for its first-party exclusives as a way to let customers know that a game comes from one of Sony’s in-house development teams. It will officially will launch at the end of the year alongside the PlayStation 5 console.
