Brazil is the fastest growing market for TikTok; the app had a record of 113 million downloads in February

The popular social app TikToK hit a record of 113 million downloads in App Store and Google Play in February. The information was first given by the data platform SensorTower. Now, the app is nearing 2 billion lifetime installs.

The app had already hit a record number of downloads in January this year. Now, in February, ByteDance‘s short videos social media was the most downloaded app, outperforming Whatsapp and Facebook, with installs up approximately 96% in a year-over-year comparison.

India is the country which the larger number of downloads. Alone, the Asian country responds for almost half (41.3%) of installs worldwide, accounting for 46.6 million downloads.

Brazil is the app’s second largest with 9.7 million downloads, followed by United States with 6.4 million installs. The Latin America country is also the fastest growing market Y/Y for TikTok.

Due to its viral app success, Bytedance has emerged has the world’s most valuable startup. According to the company itself, by the end of 2018 Bytedance has secured a valuation of $75 billion, and the number should continue to goes up.
