TikTok's rival, Instagram Reels is already running in Brazil

Reels comes as a new effort By Facebook to tackle TikTok within Instagram

Instagram announced Reels, a new video format, for India. In Brazil, it is already available since the end of June, as a result of ‘Scenes‘ testing that was run exclusively in the country over the past few months. Now, besides India and Brazil, France and Germany also have the new feature.

With Reels, people can record and edit 15-second videos with multiple cuts, including audio, effects and new creative features, a TikTok-like feature. In addition to Stories, Reels allows users to share videos friends and followers on Feed and and on Explore (in cases that the account is public), so that it can be seen by an even wider audience.

Reels comes as a new effort by Facebook to tackle TikTok within Instagram after its TikTok-like app, Lasso, announced it is shutting down.
