Uber is letting drivers in Brazil know in advance trip information including destination, estimated ride time, mileage, and potential earnings. The feature was being tested since 2018, and the company had already introduced it in California last December before rolling it out to other markets.

In Brazil, drivers from the cities of Curitiba, Florianópolis and Porto Alegre have been already experiencing the feature, which is now being expanded to other regions, according to Canaltech.

Uber explains that information about rides is only available after the driver accepts them, so as to prevent higher rates of trip rejection. Nevertheless, if a driver does not feel safe going to a destination, he or she can cancel it beforehand.

“Accessing information about a trip before it even started has always been a request from drivers and we have been working in the best possible way to meet this without impacting the users’ experience”, said Marcello Azambuja, director of the Uber Tech Center in Brazil.
