Uber Eats is selling toys in Brazil in a strategy to expand portfolio of items

The delivery app was already serving pharmacies and now the platform is selling Disney, Marvel and Star Wars' toys in São Paulo

Uber Eats is gradually opening up other categories of commercialized products besides food. The delivery app was already serving pharmacies and now the platform is selling Disney, Marvel and Star Wars‘ toys in São Paulo, the largest Brazilian city, as reported by Exame.

The expansion of the categories available on Uber Eats follows the company’s global plan to diversify its operations. Driven by the new categories, in Latin America the app grew 100% in April and May compared to the same period last year.

Uber Eats intents to deliver toys in other Brazilian cities in the coming weeks. The next step will be the portfolio expansion to other categories, such as gifts and personal and decorative items.

Fabio Plein, general director of Uber Eats in Brazil, said that in the past 3 months, Eats has been working on expanding the categories and products available on the app. “We are very excited about the arrival of Disney, Marvel and Star Wars products to inaugurate entry into the toy segment”, he said.
