Brazilian startups received $2.7 billion in venture capital investments in 2019. These figures include not only contributions, but also financial transactions related to mergers and acquisitions. The data are from the innovation platform Distrito.

In total, according to the study, technology-based businesses received 269 contributions last year in Brazil. Five of them led startups to unicorn status, that is, with a market value of $1 billion or more: Loggi (logistics), Gympass (fitness), QuintoAndar (real estate market), EBANX (fintech) and Wildlife Studios (games).
