According to Estadão Broadcast‘s real-time service, WhatsApp is working with partner companies and the country’s Central Bank to resume its payment service in Brazil as soon as possible. WhatsApp Pay was launched in Brazil, the first global service market, on June 15th. Days later, the BC and the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) suspended the service.

WhatsApp’s chief Will Cathcart told Broadcast that the app intends to adhere to the instant payment system being developed by the regulator, PIX. According to the executive, the Central Bank expressed its intention to ‘find a way’ with the Visa and Mastercard card brands so that the payment solution continues to work and still involve other authorities to resolve any outstanding doubts.

On Wednesday, Broadcast also anticipated that the Visa and Mastercard flags were bent on submitting a new authorization request to BC to resume the payment service via WhatsApp.
