Preparations for the feature in WhatsApp have started, as CanalTech reported, with a new shortcut to create a video conference room appearing in beta version. The new button is currently being tested near shortcuts for sharing photos, locations or contacts.
Other screens where the shortcut is being tested include a “Calls” tab and a list of contacts displayed when starting a group call.

Rooms is a videoconferencing service for up to 50 people, who can use their computer or cell phone to communicate with each other. You don’t have to have the Messenger app or a social network account to join a meeting room.
