YouTube has just launched a new feature for content creators on the platform to earn money from fans, the Super Thanks. The idea is for fans to purchase Super Thanks as a way to thank content creators for the videos and support their favorite channels.
YouTube has made four price ranges available for Super Thanks, from $2 to $50. Purchasing a Super Thanks on the page of a video will give the user a featured comment in the comments section, also making it easier for fans and creators to interact with each other.

The launch of Super Thanks is another step in Google’s streaming platform strategy to attract more content creators. Compensation for creators has been a big issue for big tech companies like Google, Facebook and TikTok, who have also been looking at ways to remunerate and thus retain content producers on their platforms.

YouTube is one of the platforms that gives the most return to its content creators: 55% of the ad revenue stays with the creators, and in the last 3 years, the platform has paid $30 billion to them.
Recently, YouTube announced a $100 million fund for content producers using Shorts, a product launched to compete with TikTok. Creators will be paid by views and engagement.
