Argentina bans flights from Brazil, Mexico and Chile to prevent a COVID-19 second wave

The entry of flights from Brazil, Mexico and Chile in Argentina is suspended as of Saturday to try to prevent a second wave of COVID-19 in the country.

Argentina’s state-news agency Telam Argentina said that the ban was due to increasing cases of coronavirus in those countries, as reported by CNN.

As of Saturday, Chile will expand its lockdown policy, and 85% of the population will be confined to reduce pressure on the health system. Chile is experiencing an explosion of COVID-19 cases despite conducting an agile vaccination campaign.
