The Argentine President Alberto Fernández said that he will extend the mandatory quarantine in the great cities until April 26th.
The mandatory isolation, which has been in force since the 20th of March, will continue in urban centers such as Buenos Aires, Rosario, Córdoba and Mendoza, where a greater number of infected people have been registered.
The federal government will discuss with some governors the possibility of easing the isolation on time, in cities that have not registered any cases of Covid-19.
This Saturday, the country’s Health Secretary Carla Vizzotti that the occupation of intensive care beds is currently at 50%. Based on this data, she stressed that the health system “responds and is not saturated.”
Rosa Reina, president of the Argentine Society of Intensive Therapy (Sati) told Clarín that this is an encouraging fact.
