Argentina reported 29,472 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the highest number for a single day since the pandemic began. Half of these cases are in Buenos Aires metropolitan area, where Argentina‘s President Alberto Fernández tightened restrictions and implemented curfew, reported El Pais.
It led a political tension between the Fernández and the head of the City of Buenos Aires, his opponent Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, mainly attached to the prohibition of face-to-face classes. On Saturday, Argentines protested against the restrictions and the prohibition of face-to-face classes for children, as noticed Clarín.
