Argentina to reopen bars and restaurants, and allow open-air meetings

The Argentine government authorized restaurants and bars to open to the public starting on Monday (31), provided that tables and chairs are put on the sidewalks, and that the sector follows hygiene protocols.

Meetings of up to ten people will also be allowed in the country, also outdoors, something that, in practice, is already seen in the parks and plazas of Buenos Aires.

The announcement caused conflicts within the government, with the head of government of Buenos Aires, who is from the opposition, defending greater openness, and the governor of the province of Buenos Aires and those of Jujuy and Chaco, most affected by the contamination, insisting on still maintain the harsh quarantine in those regions.
