Brazil surpassed the mark of 1 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 this Friday. There were 26,340 new cases confirmed since 8 pm on Thursday (28). As a result, the total number of people with the disease in the country reached 1,009,699.
In the last 24 hours, 558 deaths were recorded, bringing the total number of deaths to 48,427. Experts say the total death toll could rise from over 50,000 this weekend.
