Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic until Saturday, Brazil has counted 153,690 deaths and 5,224,637 cases of coronavirus, according to a consortium of media outlets that gathered data directly from the state health departments, three times a day.
The consortium’s data also points to a drop in the moving average of new cases and deaths in recent weeks. The moving average of deaths in Brazil in the last 7 days was 493 – the lowest since May 7 and represents a 25% reduction in 14 days.
The consortium is formed by G1, O Globo, Extra, O Estado de S.Paulo, Folha de S.Paulo e UOL.
