Brazil sets a new record for COVID-19 deaths

Brazil broke a new record for COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday. There were 1,726 deaths across the country in 24 hours, according to a survey by the consortium of media outlets, bringing the total number of fatal victims of the disease to 257,562. Brazil’s Ministry of Health also recorded 1,641 deaths in 24 hours, also the highest number in its series.

While the average of deaths in the world decreases by about 6%, in Brazil it grows 11%, according to the weekly epidemiological report of the World Health Organization. Even in the U.S., which still has not managed to reverse the trend, the average of deaths has risen only 1 %.
